GivingTuesday CountdownTuesday, Nov. 28, 2017 is Giving Tuesday! Make sure to mark your calendars to join in this movement dedicated to giving back.

Giving Tuesday, which takes place after Black Friday and Cyber Monday, is a global day to celebrate giving, volunteering, philanthropy, and charity.

As a community foundation that acts as a bridge between donors and charities in southern Saskatchewan, the South Saskatchewan Community Foundation (SSCF) loves Giving Tuesday as a way to help create and maintain a strong community for generations to come. SSCF is a catalyst and resource for philanthropy and a vehicle for generous individuals, families, and businesses who want to give something back to their community both during and after their lifetime.

Together, we help build strong and resilient places to live, work, and play.

SSCF hopes that individuals will take some time to engage in this special day by reading our Regina Area Vital Signs Report to get     a sense of the urgent issues facing our community. Then, consider volunteering your time or donating a gift to a charity of your choice, including the many donor options listed at www.sscf.ca or by visiting Canada Helps

Community foundations like SSCF are not charities supporting their own programs, nor do they compete with other charities/agencies for funds. Rather they pool the charitable gifts of many donors to cultivate and grow permanently endowed funds to provide lasting support for local community needs and priorities. Income generated by permanent endowment funds is distributed to support a broad range of community agencies/charities and causes, while the original investment is left to grow over time.

The South Saskatchewan Community Foundation (SSCF) is a proud member of Community Foundations of Canada, our national membership organization that includes a network of over 191 community foundations across Canada.

When each of us engages by participating actively in our communities, we all benefit. It positively affects our sense of belonging. Get involved during Giving Tuesday!
