Remembering Murray Grant

Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of Robert “Murray” Grant who recently passed away. Murray was fundamental to the creation and growth of South Saskatchewan Community Foundation (SSCF) as one of its founding leaders. He was there at the beginning, in 1968, and helped plant the seed of around $60,000 to establish SSCF and create better and stronger communities across south Saskatchewan. That seed has since grown to assets of over $90 million and donors have since given back more than $50 million to communities. Murray will be missed by his loved ones, but his impact on this community will continue to grow forever.

“Murray’s love for his family and his community was visible in his words and his actions. We were always so happy to visit with him over a pint and a pizza or a pop-in at the office. On behalf of all of us, we want to send condolences out to his beautiful family from everyone here at the South Saskatchewan Community Foundation.” Says Donna Ziegler, Executive Director of SSCF.
