2019 Spring Grant Deadlines Announced

The South Saskatchewan Community Foundation (SSCF) is announcing two 2019 spring grant deadlines that are now open. SSCF will be accepting applications for the Lorne and Evelyn Johnson Foundation (due March 1st, 2019) as well as the Moffat Family Fund (due February 28th, 2019).

Thanks to the generosity of the Moffat family, increased funds are available for registered charities and/or qualified donees in the City of Moose and the district area applying for grants from the Moffat Family Fund. In 2018, the Moffat family donated $50 million to their fund, choosing to add to the $100 million fund they had initially created at the Winnipeg Foundation in 2001. The Moffat Family Fund grants in communities where the Moffat family operated their media businesses – radio, TV, and cable. According to family spokesperson Randy Moffat, the family’s vision is to create “tangible results in improved lives and realized potential for children and families who have not had the same good fortune and opportunities that my family and I enjoy.” Learn and more apply here.

The Lorne and Evelyn Johnson Foundation will be accepting applications due on March 1st for the first of its bi-annual granting deadlines. Grants are made to promote social, cultural, religious, and other activities deemed beneficial to communities in southern Saskatchewan with priority given to the City of Regina. Grants often focus on supporting outreach to those in need, providing educational opportunities, and supporting the arts. Learn more and apply here.
