Moose Jaw Humane Society Capital Campaign Fund

Built 40 years ago, our shelter is outdated which makes it difficult to provide proper care. With your support our capital campaign will build a modern facility to ensure the health and well-being of pets for years to come.

The Moose Jaw Humane Society has proudly served Moose Jaw and surrounding rural communities for over 50 years. As a registered charity, our mission is to provide compassionate care for homeless animals and promote responsible pet ownership. Built 40 years ago, our shelter has become a shadow of what it once was, deeply affecting our ability to provide the level of care that every animal deserves. The crumbling state of the facility is not just a challenge; it is a heartbreak, presenting obstacles in our dedicated staff’s ability to provide the level of care every animal deserves. Your support for our capital campaign is not just appreciated—it’s a lifeline. With your help, we can construct a new, state-of-the-art facility that will be a haven for pets, securing their well-being for generations to come.

The primary focus of the new shelter is ensuring that our facility not only meets but surpasses current industry standards. By designing pet housing spaces that are larger than the required standards, we will be forward-thinking and proactive in promoting the health, safety, and well-being of every animal who comes through our doors.

The new shelter will also provide private, compassionate spaces for families. One private room will allow families to say goodbye to beloved pets brought in for cremation, while another will offer a quiet, welcoming space for families to spend time with the pet they are considering adopting. These areas will ensure dignity, respect, and comfort for both people and pets.

In addition, the new shelter will allow us to house more animals in a bright, welcoming environment with modern interior finishes designed to meet the latest standards in animal care. This will reduce stress for the animals and create a positive experience for families visiting the shelter.

Having a proper heating, ventilation and air conditioning system will prevent the spread of disease and keep our shelter pets healthy until they find their forever families. A stainless-steel food preparation area will reduce contamination, keeping our staff and pets safe.

The facility will also include a large garage to house our shelter vehicles, which will help lower maintenance expenses, reduce our risk of theft, and improve the efficiency of our operations.

Our vision is to create a safe, modern, and compassionate space where pets receive the best care possible and families feel supported. With your help, we can build a shelter that will serve our community and its animals for decades to come.
