Jamie's Story of Support ~ Emergent Women and Children's Fund

When I reached out to the YWCA Regina, my family was facing a difficult moment. With rising costs and limited resources, I was struggling to keep up with essential expenses that I once managed without worry. My phone and internet – lifelines for staying connected, accessing services, searching for opportunities, and supporting my family – were close to being cut off. Losing them would have made an already challenging situation even harder.

Groceries were becoming increasingly difficult to afford, and the amount of food I had was not enough to carry my through the week. I found myself having to make impossible choices between paying bills and buying basic items we needed to get by. Every day brought new uncertainty, and I worried constantly about how I would provide even the smallest necessities for my daughter and grandson.

With $1,000 from the Emergent Women and Children’s Fund, I received the support that helped steady everything at a time when I needed it most. I was able to purchase groceries, cover my phone and internet bill, and get important supplies for my daughter and my grandson. These may seem like small things, but to us, they meant security, comfort, and the ability to breathe a little easier.

This assistance didn’t just address immediate needs – it brought a sense of relief, stability, and dignity at a time when things felt overwhelming. Knowing that we were supported made it possible for me to refocus, regroup, and move forward without the constant fear of falling further behind. Thanks to the YWCA Regina and this fund, my family was able to move ahead with less stress and more hope. Your support made a meaningful difference in our lives, and I am truly grateful.
