Impact Stories: Leaving a Legacy

Donald E. Kramer

In Memoriam

In 2018, the South Saskatchewan Community Foundation lost one of its most dedicated volunteers, generous donors, and committed champions — Donald E. Kramer.

Donald served multiple terms on the Board of the Foundation over the decades, including terms as President, and also later served on the Advisory Board to the Foundation for many years. His wife Claire, who survives him, is also a dedicated SSCF contributor and friend of the Foundation.

Donald became President of the family business, Kramer Tractor Company Ltd., in 1978 and remained the CEO of the company until his death. A dedicated volunteer at numerous charities serving Regina, Donald was also a generous philanthropist. His obituary puts it perfectly: “Don was generous to his family, his friends, his church and was an energetic principled man of integrity . . . To fully appreciate all that Donald E. Kramer was, is to look at his generosity of heart and the impact he had on the lives he touched while he was here.” The South Saskatchewan Community Foundation gratefully counts itself among those greatly impacted by the man.
