Impact Stories: Stories of Hope

Random Acts of Kindness

Random Acts of Kindness

Random Acts of Kindness Day (RAK) was started in 2008 by the Kitchener-Waterloo Community Foundation to bring communities together by engaging citizens in small acts of kindness and generosity. On November 7, 2014, the South Saskatchewan Community Foundation partnered with Davis-Ward Centre for People Excellence to bring Regina its first Random Acts of Kindness Day. Local leaders, businesses, teams and individuals took part in spreading kindness throughout the city, making RAK Day a huge success.

RAK is not about fundraising or giving money, it is simply a day to celebrate kindness. Kindness Crews took to the streets to plug expired parking meters, open doors, pass out coffee to individuals on their way to work, and share conversation and smiles. With every small act of kindness, the movement grew and stories were shared through social media hashtag #RAKRegina.

The South Saskatchewan Community Foundation would like to thank everyone who participated. We look forward to doing it again.

THANK YOU!
