Supporting Learning for All Ages

Supporting Learning for All Ages

For more than 100 years, the College Avenue campus has brought together people for the local community, across the province, and around the world in pursuit of learning. Today, the University of Regina is bringing back this historic jewel, renewing it, preserving its spirit and re-affirming its place at the heart of teaching and learning in Regina.

This revitalized campus will be known as the University of Regina Leadership and Outreach Centre (LOC) and will offer a multitude of tangible benefits to the entire community. Students of all ages and stages of life will continue to populate the sustainably refurbished and easily accessible College Building, Conservatory and Darke Hall. Thank you to the Donald and Claire Kramer Foundation for their generous support to Darke Hall and to the Derril McLeod Family Foundation for their kind support to the College Avenue Campus renewal project.

The hub of the LOC will be a new Executive Education Centre. Here, learners form the Centre for Continuing Education, Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy and the community-at-large, will attend seminars and lectures in “smart” meeting rooms designed for groups of 20-300 people. Once completed, the University of Regina LOC will serve as a provincial and national destination that integrates academic programming with outreach and training for both public and private sector professionals.

Building Knowledge — The College Avenue Campus Renewal Project continues to build momentum and we have now raised $5 million of our $10 million fundraising goal. In 2013, the project continued to receive generous support from many donors through the South Saskatchewan Community Foundation. With your support, our historical campus will be infused with a new energy for its next century of use, with young people on stage, grandparents in the classroom, business leaders in symposia, and civil servants in lecture. Thank you so much for your confidence in a project that is of such importance. Our vision is to revitalize and preserve a historic resource for our community can only be done through the support of friends like you.
