Philanthropic Advisor
Abby Schneider is the Philanthropic Advisor with the Community Foundation. It’s an exciting new position that focuses on supporting local professionals as they guide clients through the many charitable giving opportunities at the Foundation. With this role, we aim to foster a deeper understanding of philanthropic strategies and promote charitable giving as a key component of estate, tax, and financial planning.
After a long career in journalism and community engagement, Abby joined the Community Foundation in 2025. She has strong ties to people and organizations across Saskatchewan and worked at CBC for 15 years in Regina, Toronto, and Whitehorse. Abby holds a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Regina and a BA in International Development Studies from Dalhousie.
Abby contributes to her community by helping out at sporting events, serving on a school community council, and volunteering at her local outdoor rink. She also helps run a screenwriting program for the Regina International Film Festival and Awards. Abby loves meeting new people, asking questions, and connecting people with information that will make their lives easier, or just even more interesting with random trivia tidbits.
