The Community Foundation Supports Wildfire Efforts

The Community Foundation has taken immediate action by contributing to local and provincial emergency relief efforts as wildfires continue to impact communities across Saskatchewan.

With heartfelt concern for those affected, the Community Foundation has donated $10,000 to St. John Ambulance in Regina and $15,000 to the Rawlco Radio Saskatchewan Day of Caring for Wildfire Relief, with all proceeds from the latter directly supporting the Canadian Red Cross.

These organizations are on the front lines, delivering essential services and emergency support to evacuees. The Community Foundation recognizes that meaningful change begins with action and by supporting those who support others, we strengthen our community and amplify the impact of collective generosity.

At the Community Foundation, we are deeply committed to bridging donors and communities, especially during moments of crisis. Donna Ziegler, Executive Director at the Foundation, shared, “Our Board and staff are greatly concerned about the wellbeing of wildfire evacuees. By leveraging our resources, we can offer relief today and work toward long-term recovery in the future.” In the weeks ahead, the Foundation will continue to explore how we can assist with ongoing recovery efforts.
