Treaty 4 — 150th Anniversary Activities

This year marks a significant milestone as 150 years ago, Queen Victoria and the Cree and Saulteaux governing bodies came together to sign Treaty 4 in Fort Qu’Appelle. A century and a half later, we still recognize and honour the lands this treaty encompasses, and reflect on the journey all our ancestors have made to bring us here today. Leading up to September 15, there are a number of activities being held this week in Fort Qu’Appelle to celebrate this important milestone. We encourage everyone to take some time to learn more about the treaty, how it came to be, what it represents, and how it has impacted the lives and cultures of those who live, work, learn and play on these lands. If you are interested in attending any of the activities taking place throughout the week for the Treaty 4 Gathering, please view the details below or visit https://treaty4gathering.ca/.
