On Tuesday February 6th, the Community Foundation hosted the first ever Women Supporting Women: Legacy of Kindness breakfast. The sold-out event celebrated the impact of women in our community, and heard from a number of passionate change-makers throughout our province. With a themed twist, guests were immersed within the world of Barbie— and the timeless legacy that Barbie’s inspiration has continued to encourage for generations.
Special thank-you’s go out to our incredible MC, Jenn Dean, as well as Elder Brenda Dubios for opening up the event for us in the most positive way.
We would also like to extend a huge thank-you to all of the passionate women who spoke and shared their stories at the event: Shirley Schneider, Raiha Shareef, Pam Klein, Tmira Marchment, Melissa Coomber-Bendtsen, Natalya Mason, Vibya Natana, and Shana Pasapa. We are honoured to have been touched by your strength and inspiration.
Thank you to everyone who came out to the event, and to those who showed support to the SSCF Vital Community Women and Children’s fund. We are so grateful that you were a part of the first Women Supporting Women event, and we are already hard at work planning the event for next year!
This event would not have been made possible without the help and support of the YWCA Regina and RaiseHer Community. Thank you for your continuous guidance and plethora of knowledge that helped to ensure the event was a success!
